Slow Drains in Portage Michigan

Recently I had the privilege of calling Service Professor out to help remediate some slow drains, I have to hand it to them, real humans called back after filling out the contact form on the website on a weekend. Additionally, the night before they sent a note reminding you about the appointment, before the tech shows up at the house they send you a note saying they are on their way with a link to view the techs biography with the company giving a little bit of personal information about the tech your going to be working with which is great for helping you know who is about to enter your home. Oh yeah, they have coupons on the site as well!

The initial visit ( Tuesday ), started with the tech walking through the home visiting each drain location and reviewing the issue if one was associated, then we went into the basement to review the current plumbing situation and in my case become aware of potential issues that may result as of attempting to augur the plumbing. This was good as in my case we did actually have the worst case occur. The augur went through the bottom of one of the pipes, leaving us with an open line. Now at this point I was expecting a bill with no resolution and that is NOT what happened, we scheduled an appointment for someone to come out and give a quote for the plumbing, and then the tech let me know there was no charge for the visit as they where unable to resolve the issue. Not what I was expecting in today’s world. So the soonest the quote could be given was Thursday, so I was expecting to not have kitchen use for the couple of days, not a huge deal but was absolutely delighted when Wednesday afternoon I received a call saying the plumber could be at my home in 30 minutes if I could be there to do the quote a day early! Elated to have a solution proposal in hand I headed home.

Again I received a video biography of the technician who was en-route and had a chance to review it before they showed up.

Hey thanks for checking me out, this is my lil corner on the web a bit different from what it started out as in the 90's with my first learning of .html 2.0 and 3.0. I remember the advent of frame sets, the introduction of java script and flash, php 2.0 and 3.0 and being marveled by how much meta could actually still influence indexing yet be obscured by the public eyes through the use of alt and title tags to better describe the links and images.

Fast forward almost 30 years, the phones on our walls are gone, we have more power on the phone in our pocket than we did on our old desktops of 95, and the web, at the heart is still driven by the same types of content just a lil better described and organized. Here I sit now toying with java script as a server side scripting language, still using php, no longer having a fear of nix, and branching out into an attempt of scripting myself into oblivion one task at a time.
